✦How does Ultrasound Cavitation Work?
Ultrasonic Cavitation or commonly called Cavitation for short, consist of low-level frequencies that transmit into the skin and cause a biological phenomenon that consist of the formation of bubbles in between the fat cells. This creates a shock wave that selectively damage the membranes of the adipocytes (fat cells). After the breakdown of adipose tissue (fat cell membrane), the liquid fat is realized into the interstitial fluid between the cells, where it is enzymatically metabolized to glycerol and free fatty acids.
Water-soluble glycerol travels into the circulatory system and is used for new energy generation. The insoluble free fatty acids enter the liver where they are decomposed like any other simple fatty acid and excreted as waste (urine). It is scientifically proven that after a cavitation session, excess fat liquid are drained from that body via the urinary system and no damage is caused to the surrounding organs or tissues. Clients can see an instant result from treatment, with measurements and photos taken before and straight after treatment.
There will also be an increase production of diuresis (the production of urine by the kidneys) in the hours following the treatment session, and continues into the next day as the body metabolizes the excess liquid caused by the fat cells. Some clients do have an urge to use the toilet straight after treatment, this is normal and is the result of the fat cells leaving the body. As the urine becomes more acidity, the smell and color of the urine may be observed right after the treatment session, this is very apparent for those clients that have a higher percentage of body fat.
✦Commonly Targeted Areas
Upper and Lower Abdomen, Hips, Love Handles/Flanks, Inner and Outer Thighs, Upper Arms/Bingo Wings, Bra and Backs Rolls, Buttocks, Baby Bulges and can also be used areas as small as the chins and knees. This treatment can be used to reduce "man boobs" but cannot be used to treat female breast tissue or Gynecomastia.
✦How do I Prepare for My Treatment?
Make the most of your treatment by eating healthily and exercising on the day of the treatment. It is a must that you DRINK A LOT OF WATER before the treatment, at least one and a half liters, before and after. The Lipocontour Ultrasound Cavitation treatment does release fat from the cellulite tissues into the bloodstream. Therefore it is essential that on the day of the treatment you eat vegetables, salads and very lean protein (e.g. fish, chicken/turkey breast etc.) in order to burn the released fat and make the most of your treatment.
✦What are the Results?
Results can vary greatly from patient to patient. However, most proponents of ultrasonic cavitation claim that you may see three results:
1. Tightened skin and reduced cellulite (due to the production of new collagen and elastin fibers)
2. Reduced circumference in the treated area (due to fat-cell release)
3. An overall contoured appearance (due to a combination of the benefits listed above)
How many treatments do I need? How often should I be treated to see results?
Although most practices that offer ultrasonic cavitation claim you’ll see results after the first session, they also caution that between 4 and 12 sessions are needed for optimum results. The exact number of treatments needed will vary due to factors such as age, weight, and the area being treated.
Is this procedure invasive?
Is there any downtime?
On the day of treatment
When you arrive, you will meet with you practitioner. They will mark up the targeted area, apply ultrasound gel and begin circular movements of the applicator transmitting low-level frequency to the desired areas. Clients may experience a slight ringing or buzzing in the ear during the treatment as the sound waves penetrate the body. This sound is only heard when the Ultrasound Cavitation applicator is used and stops when the applicator is taken of the skin.
WHO IS NOT A CANDIDATE?
